Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo is to the East what AREWA is to the North and AFANIFERE to the West. Essentially depicting the original Tripod of the entity called Nigeria. How successful each group have been in propagating the ideas and ideals of their race within Nigeria is a matter for another time and another discussion.

Briefly on Ohanaeze:
After the Nigerian civil war, some prominent Igbos gathered to proclaim the need to unify Igbos under a common umbrella body. This initiative was much welcomed considering maximum displacement of the Igbos during the war and its aftermath. An organizational assembly was created, referred to as the Igbo National Assembly (INA). This organization was later banned by the Federal Military Government at the time, probably due to the Government's fear of a grand suspicious agenda being cultivated by the Igbos via the organization; hence, the creation of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, in 1976.
Professor Ben Nwabueze, a foremost constitutional lawyer, assembled prominent Igbo leaders to form the organization of which he emerged the Secretary-General of the organization spanning a period of 20 years.
The organization was effectively championed and supported by the Dr. Kingsley Mbadiwe, Dr. Francis Akanu Ibiam, Dr. Michael Iheonukara Okpara, Dr. Pius Okigbo, and Chief Jerome Udorji (who served as the first Secretary General), among other notable Igbo personalities.....

The next OHANAEZE leader as we approach agenda 2023.....

In my humble view and opinion, the decission on who becomes the next Ohanaeze leader has a direct relationship with the overall success of agenda 2023.

That decision will send a signal to the nation as to our readiness and determination for the quest of Nigerian Presidency of Igbo extraction 2023.

He should be a  seasoned diplomat of national and international repute. A bridge builder, a negotiator and one who must not fail to negotiate but one who MUST NOT negotiate out of weakness.

A non polarizing figure politically. One capable of bringing various political parties and groups East of the Niger together under one umbrella for a common purpose #2023.

One who is able to reach out to the good the bad and the ugly East of the Niger united towards a set objective #2023.

An officer and a gentleman etc. No doubt l left out other important attributes for such a leader..... you can add yours.

Can we find such a person among us?

I have heard the suggestion about former Governor Ikedi Ohakim. I have no doubt he is qualified but I want to suggest we suggest more names with a view of coming out with the best for the task ahead.

Another person, who should be considered for this Igbo exulted position is Prof Jude Ejikeme Njoku, former Vice Chancellor Federal University of Technology Owerri, FUTO. He is a consummate technocrat with needed human resources management capacity and experience to pilot Igbo global affairs. Prof Jude Njoku is a humble personality par-excellence, a major characteristics required to navigate smoothly on the rough Nigerian political terrain.

In view of that, and with due respect l want to suggest Prof. George Obiozor a professor and diplomat. Former Nigerian Ambassador to United States and l believe Israel etc. He is elderly, so age is not on his side. But a situation such as we have requires such a personality if he can be persuaded. He is my humble suggestion. Others may have other ideas.

Good afternoon all.
